LIVERMORE, CA -- Medical device maker Therative announced the close of its third round of financing, receiving $9 million in new venture capital.

Therative makes an over-the-counter medical device that provides a short (six second) burst of heat to pimples, which has been proven effective in reducing the time a pimple is visible.  The heat kills bacteria that are believed to cause the pimple.

Investors in the round included new investor Bessemer Venture Partners and returning investors Foundation Capital, RWI Ventures and the Band of Angels.

(Disclosure note: an officer of VentureDeal has an equity stake in Therative.)
